Our gold-toned pieces use PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plating — the same technology used in luxury watches. Unlike traditional electroplating, PVD bonds at the molecular level and is significantly more durable. With normal wear, it should last 1-3 years without fading. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive surfaces to extend its life.
No. The "green skin" effect happens with cheap brass or copper alloys that react with sweat and skin oils. 316L stainless steel does not contain copper or brass, so it will never leave green marks on your skin.
Both are made from the same 316L stainless steel base. Silver steel is the natural polished finish of the metal. Gold PVD is a molecular-level coating that gives the steel a warm gold tone while retaining all the durability and waterproof properties of 316L. Yes. All LUMYU jewelry comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. This covers broken clasps, faulty links, and plating defects. Normal wear and tear, loss, or damage from improper use is not covered. Contact us with photos and we'll arrange a replacement.
While 316L steel is highly durable, we recommend storing your pieces separately in a jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratching from harder objects. Keep gold PVD pieces away from abrasive surfaces to preserve the finish.
