316L is surgical-grade stainless steel — the same material used in medical implants and luxury Swiss watches. It contains molybdenum, which makes it exceptionally resistant to corrosion, rust, and tarnish. Unlike cheaper alloys or brass, 316L is biocompatible and completely nickel-free on the surface.
Yes, absolutely. Our 316L steel is 100% waterproof. You can shower, swim in the ocean or pool, sweat at the gym — your jewelry will not rust, tarnish, or change color. This is one of the biggest advantages of 316L over plated brass or sterling silver.
Yes. Our jewelry is made from nickel-free 316L stainless steel, which is safe for sensitive skin. Many customers with nickel allergies who can't wear regular fashion jewelry find LUMYU completely irritation-free. All our materials are EU REACH certified.
Our gold-toned pieces use PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plating — the same technology used in luxury watches. Unlike traditional electroplating, PVD bonds at the molecular level and resists wear far better than ordinary plating. We do not quote a fixed colour-retention period: the gold tone is a thin decorative coating, and how long it keeps its colour depends on wear pattern, skin chemistry and care. Kept away from harsh chemicals and abrasive surfaces, it holds its tone far longer than conventional electroplating.
No. The "green skin" effect happens with cheap brass or copper alloys that react with sweat and skin oils. 316L stainless steel does not contain copper or brass, so it will never leave green marks on your skin.
Both are made from the same 316L stainless steel base. Silver steel is the natural polished finish of the metal. Gold PVD is a molecular-level coating that gives the steel a warm gold tone while retaining all the durability and waterproof properties of 316L. We also offer gunmetal (dark grey) and rose gold finishes.
No. This website does not collect payments and there is no online checkout. Send us an enquiry and our team will confirm pricing, lead time and payment details with you in writing; nothing is charged before you approve the written order confirmation.
Yes — bulk orders are quoted per order. Volume pricing depends on quantity, finish (silver steel vs PVD), engraving and packaging, so we price it against your actual requirement instead of showing a fixed online tier. Send us your target quantity and destination and we will come back with a quote.
Once an order confirmation is signed off we move straight into production. If you need to change or cancel, contact us as soon as possible — before cutting starts we can usually still adjust quantity, finish or engraving. Gift packaging is available: a matte black magnetic box with velvet insert and a hand-written card can be added to any order — just say so in your enquiry. We do not sell gift cards on this website, because no payment is collected here.
Our MOQ is 100 pieces per style for standard designs, and 360 pieces per style for custom / OEM designs. Sample orders (1-5 pieces) are accepted for evaluation — sample fees may apply and are refundable against the first bulk order.
Sample lead time: 7-14 days from confirmed design. Bulk production lead time: 25-40 days depending on quantity and finish (PVD coating adds ~5 days). Rush orders can be arranged — contact us with your deadline.
Yes — we ship bulk orders worldwide from our Dongguan factory. Our primary B2B markets include US, Canada, UK, all EU countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, UAE, and Latin America. Freight terms (EXW / FOB / CIF / DDP) and Incoterms are quoted per order based on destination and volume.
All LUMYU products are manufactured to premium quality standards, and defects in materials and workmanship are covered — broken clasps, faulty links, out-of-spec dimensions and similar production faults. The warranty does not cover colour change or wear of the PVD coating (a decorative surface finish), nor damage from misuse, accidents or normal wear and tear. For B2B orders we replace defective units at pro-rata or full credit — send photos and your PO number to start a claim.
For DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipments we prepay duties on your behalf — you receive the goods with no surprise fees. For FOB / CIF shipments, the buyer handles customs clearance in the destination country. All shipments include commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin.
316L stainless steel is extremely low maintenance. Simply wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth. For a deeper clean, use a microfiber jewelry cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners — they're unnecessary for 316L steel.
Every LUMYU piece is covered against defects in materials and workmanship — broken clasps, faulty links and out-of-spec manufacturing. The 316L steel itself is built to last and does not rust or tarnish. The PVD gold tone is a decorative coating: colour change from wear is not covered, nor is damage from misuse, accidents or loss. Contact us with photos and your order reference and we will arrange a replacement for any manufacturing defect.
While 316L steel is highly durable, we recommend storing your pieces separately in a jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratching from harder objects. Keep gold PVD pieces away from abrasive surfaces to preserve the finish.
